Licensing and insurance in Florida

Florida regulates construction contractors through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. There is no separate statewide license just for gutters. What matters is this: when a gutter job requires a building permit, usually because it is part of roofing, fascia or soffit work or the city asks for one, the permit has to be pulled under a contractor license. In Jacksonville that is typically a state-certified or registered contractor, or a specialty contractor holding a certificate of competency through the city's Construction Trades Qualifying Board.
